Fantastic psychological trickery. The drip, drip, drip of impending doom for mother and child. I agree with Jolie du Pre, it has great potential, either expanded or even as a subplot in an apocalyptic tale. That said – it stands alone with grace and oomph!

Bleak and stark – but then, an apocalypse is not usually a cheery subject, is it!
However, you have done a superb job engendering such a brutal reality – brava!

So bleak. When did the end of the world become such a drag?
(Excellent story, though.)

I really don’t see the world ending as fun, so I agree, yeah, it’s pretty bleak! Cheers Nate. X

(Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but wordpress was being difficult and when I hit post comment, I wasn’t sure if it worked because my comment didn’t show. Trying a different account.) That was intense. I had a feeling Bella was dead and her mother had no idea. Although, I was also expecting a twist. Not have the world end and the mother just be nuts for whatever reason.

I played with that idea, but I wrote it for a writing challenge about the the aftermath of the world ending, so that’d have kind of made me fail the challenge. 😀
