Happy New Year: A Poem

Happy New Year!

Like blood flows on
through vein and heart.
So too does life beckon
onwards into a New Year.

Like the fate of good and bad,
is cloudy yet sincere.
So too is that which began
years since, remaining unclear.

One day, one year,
one day, the next.
Fate is at large. All powerful!
The universal, uncontrollable reflex

Predictions of tears, laughter and loves
become pictures with colours,
and sound and emotion and hope.
Fate realise me – and take me on to the next…

…For life gives as it takes,
and the mysteries favour as they destroy,
and there is health as well as ill
and I will take it all!
