Review: Michael Carter on July 12, 2013 :
After an unspecified apocalypse, a mother and her daughter remain alive. The story is the mothers journal, as she ponders on life, existence and the future, as well as a slow decline into madness and suicide.
This is a downbeat but enjoyable story; I’ve always enjoyed stories told in letters or journals. This is moving, thoughtful, and well-written [apart from the second sentence, which I didn’t understand!], and, while not terribly original, gives a good personal spin on the post-apocalypse diary. Worth a read, from an interesting British author.
